Jessica Dollard
Artistic Director and Co-Founder, Urban Curvz Theatre
Cross-pollinate Jessica's extensive stint in the
classroom with her experience as a theatre
administrator/practitioner and then sprinkle with a dash of
synchronicity and you have Urban Curvz Theatre. Starting this
company is an inevitability in Jessica's mind. She has worked as a
producer, actor and administrator since she graduated from the
University of Calgary with a BFA in 2002 and Mount Royal College
with a Diploma in Theatre Arts in 2005.
Last season as an actor she was thrilled to be a part of Ground
Zero Theatre’s production of The Pillowman as the Mother,
and loved playing Nellie in Vertigo Mystery Theatre’s Lord
Arthur Savile’s Crime. Other favourite acting credits include
Mila Mulroney in Sage Theatre's production of Blowfish, the
role of Jelena in Necessary Targets, and Helena in A
Midsummer Night's Dream with Shakespeare in the Park 2005. Her
first encounter with producing was Urban Curvz Theatre’s inaugural
production Necessary Targets By Eve Ensler in April of
2006.
Urban Curvz Theatre is now entering it's third season with Jessica
at it's helm and has produced four shows to date; Living
Shadows, A Story of Mary Pickford in September of 2006, three
time Betty Mitchell Award Nominated Thy Neighbour’s Wife By
Tara Beagan in May of 2007 and now The Vajayjay Monologues
by Lindsay Burns in September 2007.
She is so proud of Jamie Konchak, winner of the
'Best Supporting Actress' Betty Mitchell Award for her work in
Thy Neighbour's Wife. Jessica was also an Artistic Associate
at Ground Zero Theatre last year where she produced the
Groundbreaker series plays My Morocco and Tabitha,
and Ground Zero’s Alumni show Trout Stanley.
While not on stage Jessica penned Martha in
the Corner which was a part of Sage's IGNITE Festival 2005,
and was originally produced in Winnipeg at Sarasvati Production's
FemFest 2004. This year, in addition to leading the Curvz, Jessica
will also be producing a Ghost River Theatre show, DOOM 2012
By Doug McKeag.

Jennifer Tyerman
Artistic Producer, Urban Curvz Theatre
Jennifer Tyerman is thrilled by the opportunity to be involved with this fantastic company. She is a graduate of The University of Calgary's fine arts program and received her BFA with a drama major in 2001. During University, she was involved with projects with All Nations Theatre Company as well as with Crazy Horse Theatre Company's Aboriginal Playwrights Festival. After finishing her degree, Jennifer took a brief hiatus from the theatre to perfect her domestic skills and has been happily married since 2002. Now back in the community, she has fully submerged herself by playing 'volunteer coordinator' in the 2006 Calgary Fringe Festival. Jen loves to run and recently completed her first marathon. She also loves cooking, reading and of course, her husband, Jacob.
